Bag Carrier Trolley with Open Frame

A trolley with no basket at all: an open frame that holds shopping bags and boxes upright, for stores where shoppers arrive with their own bags or leave with cased goods.

No Basket, Because Bags Do Not Want One

A wire basket is the wrong container for a bag. Bags slump, boxes wedge at angles, and unloading either at the till means reaching into a basket and lifting them out. An open frame trolley holds them upright at the height they were set down at, and the shopper lifts them straight across to the counter.

It suits two quite different stores: one where shoppers bring their own bags and fill them as they go, and one selling cased or boxed goods where nothing loose is bought at all. In both, the basket on a conventional trolley is a container nobody uses.

Product Description

Bag Carrier Trolley with Open Frame

A trolley with no basket at all: an open frame that holds shopping bags and boxes upright, for stores where shoppers arrive with their own bags or leave with cased goods.

Key Features

  • Built to your drawing rather than to a fixed configuration — length, depth, height and internal layout all follow your floor plan.
  • Cold rolled steel body with the finish carried across every category on the same order, to one RAL or PANTONE reference.
  • Manufactured in our own plant in Changshu, where steel fabrication, woodworking and stainless steel production run on one site.

Applications

Supermarkets, convenience stores, chain retail and speciality stores. Tell us the store format and the floor area and the specification comes back written against them.

What The Photographs Show

With no basket, the frame is the entire product. All four of these are it.

Open Carrier Frame

Holds bags upright

The frame holds bags at the height they were set down. Nothing has to be lifted out of a basket at the till, which on a store where every shopper has bags is real time at the lane.

Welded Junction

Welded steel tube

With no basket bracing the frame, the junctions carry more of the load than on a conventional trolley. They are welded rather than bolted for exactly that reason.

Handle

Moulded, any colour

The same moulded handle as the rest of the fleet, so a store running carrier trolleys alongside conventional ones still has one visual family.

Nesting Profile

Full nesting

It nests like a conventional trolley. Without a basket there is less to foul, which makes this one of the tightest nesting builds in the range.

Customisation

Every item on this page is made to order. Send a floor plan, a hand sketch or a photograph of a fixture you like, and we quote against it.

How These Baskets Leave The Factory

Store fixtures are light for their size, so a container fills up on volume long before it fills up on weight. What decides your freight is not what one unit weighs — it is what shape the goods are in when they go through the container door. Everything we build leaves in one of three shapes, and a bulk island is the one that travels best.

Flat Packed Cabinet And Shelving Panels

Shelving bays, produce islands and bulk cabinets travel as panels — uprights, shelves, back panels and plinths, strapped flat with bubble wrap on every component. They are built up on the shop floor, so the packing list and the assembly drawings travel with the goods.

Nested Trolleys And Hand Baskets

Trolleys slide into one another and baskets stack. Past the first unit, each extra one adds only its nesting pitch instead of its full length, so the shipped volume ends up a fraction of what the unit count suggests.

Fully Assembled Counters

A checkout lane is welded, coated and fitted out as one piece, so it is crated whole with padding on the steel. Nothing waits to be assembled at the store beyond levelling it into the lane, and the crate is the counter plus a margin.

Baskets stack, which makes them the densest thing we ship. A column of nested baskets is close to solid plastic, so the freight cost per basket is a fraction of anything else in this catalogue — which is why baskets are almost always added to a container that is going anyway rather than shipped on their own. We do not publish litre capacities for this range. The figures circulating for it came from an old third-party listing rather than from our own production records, and they are being confirmed with the factory first.

What Usually Travels In The Same Container

A trolley bay is part of the front of store, and what it stands next to decides how well it works.

How many of each a store needs is a floor area question rather than a product question, and it is answered store by store on the equipment lists by store size.

Buyer Questions

Questions Buyers Ask Before Ordering

The ones that come up on nearly every enquiry for this category.

Q01 Is it useful for a normal supermarket?

Only as part of a mixed fleet. If your shoppers buy loose groceries they want a basket, and this trolley will sit unused. It earns its place where bags or cases are the normal unit of sale.

Q02 How wide is the frame?

It is set to the bag or case your store issues rather than to a standard. Send the packaging dimensions and it comes back on the drawing.

Q03 Does it nest as well as a basket trolley?

Better, in most cases — there is less to foul when they push together. That makes it one of the tightest builds in the range for container loading and bay space.

Q04 Can we run these alongside standard trolleys?

Yes, and it is the usual arrangement. They take the same handle and the same colour reference, so a mixed fleet still reads as one.
